Community Supported Art (CSA) Packages
This project was born out of the desire to create something for people to focus on, look forward to, and share during the COVID-19 pandemic that hit during winter - exacerbating an already challenging time of year for many. Ten artists were asked to donate work that would result in a curated package of ten unique art pieces available for purchase. Purchasing a share connected patrons to artists and all proceeds directly benefitted a local mutual aid organization.
Concise Dancing
Transient ‘dance’ sessions aimed at encouraging uninhibited movement, being in tune with one’s body, and increased disregard for outward perception. The two, 30-minute movement sessions were timed to a highly-curated audio track - only playing portions of songs. The start and end of each movement session was signaled by the horn introduction of House of Pain’s "Jump Around.” Dense fog and sound reactive lighting promoted dancers’ anonymity.
Small Joys
Collaged reminders for the Powderhorn Park neighborhood of Minneapolis after the wake of George Floyd’s murder and the subsequent unrest. Some small, pleasant thoughts to spot on the way to protest, visit the memorial, volunteer, or perhaps during a refueling walk. Seven cards in total in the neighborhood.
